Re: Self-service Check-outs
Why are you worried that others are worried, Penners?

Anyway, no one's worried, we're just having a moan up.

I love a good moan up.

Re: Self-service Check-outs
but people just seem to winge about them for the sake of it? they are quicker than queueing and sometimes go a bit wrong.

more important things to worry about

The issue is that there's often an issue. They* need better gear.

Re: Self-service Check-outs
i dont get the issue to be honest. scan it through, pay, then leave? if there's an issue then locate a member of staff.

Re: Self-service Check-outs
Horrible fucking things, plus they're of no use to me as I only ever go to a supermarket to buy beer or wine, and for that I have to see a human to verify my age.... Which is ancient.

Re: Self-service Check-outs
Self-service and self-scan and pack generally make visits to the supermarket much quicker so yes, of course they're a good thing. I fucking hate queuing.

Re: Self-service Check-outs
I don't like them at all.

They'll be asking us to mop up in aisle three, or pack the fucking shelves when the Peanut Butter runs low.

Nah, supermarkets are screwing their customers and suppliers alike and this is just another turn of the screw, reducing their costs under the guise of "Better Service".

Asda's are the best. Tesco and Sainbsury's seem a bit cheap.

Re: Self-service Check-outs
Sweden's biggest supermarkets have them, walk around scaning and packing at the same time, great stuff,

I havent queued for years, and never will again.

Interaction with a retarded fuckwit i can do without, queuing is so 1986

Re: Self-service Check-outs
Quite simply, they are the work of the devil.
I refuse to use them. Last time I was over, I was in a Tesco queuing for a manned till, when a member of staff invited me to use the empty diy till, which I declined. She, rather patronisingly, said 'they're easy to use', as if I was some fucking neanderthal. I told her I don't like them, would rather have interaction with a human being and was trying to keep people like her in a job. She looked a bit surprised and said she hadn't thought of it like that.
Here in France they're virtually unheard of.

Re: Self-service Check-outs
Sainsbury's are terrible, even using one their own reusable bags is too much for the machines to cope with.
